Computer Wonderment
Living in SwedenThere is a women in my computer class who makes me laugh. As I posted before, you have to remember there are literally billions of people who have never touched a computer, and this women is one of those. Now, when I say I laugh, this is not in a vindictive way, I tutor her, although we do not understand each other very well.
This women is from a Russian speaking former Soviet controlled country (possibly Lithuania, but the details are as you can imagine a bit sketchy), and she seems to exist in an on-going state of bewilderment. Even though she is about forty years old, she finds everything fascinating. Today, she found hilarity in manoeuvring the cursor around the screen with the mouse, and mastering the double click.
After the lesson I spoke to a mutual Russian friend who used to be a Russian/English translator, and she was told me this women used to live in a small town, and went straight from school to working in a clothing factory. This would explain the wonderment of a lot of the things she finds around her now.
In some way you have to admire people like that, I think she is permanently living outside of her comfort zone.
That is all.
